Projects
I value teamwork and find meaning in co-creating knowledge.
Below are some projects I am currently working on.
Self-compassion, defined as being kind and understanding toward oneself in the face of adversity, has been found to have numerous psychological benefits, including increased well-being, resilience, and decreased psychological distress. However, the conceptualization and expression of self-compassion may vary across cultures due to cultural norms, values, and beliefs. To effectively promote self-compassion in diverse populations, it is crucial to understand the cultural nuances that influence its understanding, experience, and expression. This project aims to explore the cultural nuances of self-compassion across different cultural contexts. It seeks to investigate how cultural factors influence the conceptualization, experience, and expression of self-compassion, and to identify cultural-specific practices and beliefs that promote self-compassion.
